Diamond Jubilee

On 4 June 2012, Queen Elizabeth II will become the second monarch in British history to celebrate a 60 year reign.  The Queen will light a national beacon on the anniversary date for the others to emulate.  The Diamond Jubilee weekend runs from June 2-5 when there will be an extra bank holiday in celebration of the historic event.

A range of events are planned throughout the year to celebrate the Town's historic links with royalty over 400 years.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council will be supporting local community plans to join the 2,012 beacons lit acrosss the nation to recognise the Queen's 60 years on the throne on 4 June 2012.
