Attractions in Tunbridge Wells

As well as being an attraction in itself, with the famous pretty colonnaded walkway known as The Pantiles and the Chalybeate Spring, some of the largest attractions in Kent are on the doorstep of Royal Tunbridge Wells.

There are stately homes, castles, historic monuments, world renowned gardens (small and large, formal and informal) and fascinating churches.

National Trust properties and private estates with public access are scattered with equal measure across this area of Kent and, Tunbridge Wells is situated right in the middle of the best of them.

Stay in Tunbridge Wells, and it will be handy for visiting these wonderful attractions.

Famous attractions in Tunbridge Wells

Penshurst Place is a famous 14th century privately run palace and stunning garden estate with café, shop and numerous special fun events open almost all year to the public.

Pashley Manor Gardens is an award winning smaller attraction but no less beautiful and inviting.  It is home to a number of floral and art festivals during the year.

There are fun parks, lakes and rocks to clamber over; forests and nature reserves to explore and vineyards to view.

The Spa Valley Railway is very popular with restored steam engines and diesel engines.  Watch our What’s On calendar for the special themed days such as Thomas the Tank Engine or the CAMRA Real Ale and Cider Festival.

The area is home to a wealth of culture, heritage, art, and historic architecture.

The many museums, galleries and theatres provide great amusement at any time of the year or in any weather.

Not just for adults, we have family friendly attractions too for small children and teenagers alike.

The Seven Wonders of the Weald yearly pass provides discounts and special offers at some of the attractions in the area.  Groombridge Place is one of these, a unique playground for people of all ages.
