Tunbridge Wells About Us

Welcome to Tunbridge Wells Tourist Information Centre

At the Tunbridge Wells Tourist Information Centre (or TIC), we are here to welcome you, inspire you and help you make the most of your time in this lovely part of the country. So, here is a little bit of information about us!

We have been providing an information service to visitors for more than 25 years, and during this time, the TIC has had several homes in Royal Tunbridge Wells, including the Old Fish Market (which you will find in the middle of the Pantiles and is now the Champagne and Seafood Bar). We have a lot of visitors to the TIC with more than 25,000 every year.

The Tourist Information Centre is now located in the Corn Exchange building in the Pantiles. We have recently moved to a lovely bright office to the front of the building making us very easy for visitors to find.

In the TIC you will meet our friendly and knowledgeable advisers who will have many ideas to share with you about how to fill your days, making sure that you do not miss any opportunities while you are here. We also have an extensive range of maps, brochures and leaflets that you can pick up at the start of your visit, and peruse at your leisure.  These are from attractions right across the South East.

The Team are also ready with practical and specialist information for example accommodation options, accessibility advice and how to get about the area by car, bike or by public transport (with a full range of bus timetables available!). We can advise on parking across the borough from Benenden to Speldhurst and inbetween to be near to your destination.

Choose from our wide range of hotels, B&Bs, self-catering and camping and caravanning options and view our special offers as well.

Twice-weekly scheduled Guided Walks, led by trained Blue Badge Guides, set off from the TIC on Thursdays and Saturdays at 10.30am and, in addition, our TIC Team can arrange Guided Walks for groups of 15 and above if you contact them by phone or email. Have a theme in mind? No problem, just ask! If you want a Guide who is able to conduct the walk in a language other than English, no problem, please ask!

We can assist with organising simple schedules for foreign and domestic school trips including booking the guided tours designed for the age appropriate imagination!

We would encourage you to take the time to come down and see us at the start of your stay and find out what Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding area has to offer. Whether it is shopping, walking, gardens or history that you are interested in, we will be able to help.

We can also provide you with information on places to eat such as the various restaurants, pubs and bars in the region.

We also spend a significant amount of time populating this website for approximately 30,000 users who browse the site every quarter and we share our inspiring stories on our Facebook page and Twitter too.

Be assured we are in regular contact with local businesses and organisations across the borough like Royal Tunbridge Wells Together as well as regional partners such as Visit Kent and Tourism South East to bring you the industry insights and lesser known points of interest.

Tour operators and coach drivers are more than welcome to get in contact for logistical advice and booking guides too.

A selection of postcards and cards can be purchased at the TIC to send to your friends and family – so don’t forget them.

Visit our Contact Us page for details of how to get in touch with us.

Tunbridge Wells is neighbour to other delightful regions in Kent and the county of Sussex. After you have sated your appetite for Tunbridge Wells, use as a relaxing base to explore the wider area to your heart's content. For inspiration or to plan your onward trip, you could look at Visit South East England for ideas.
