Cookies and you

Information is gathered automatically by the web server, through the use of “cookies” on the Site, and also from your interaction through online requests for brochures.

We have an account with Google Analytics where we can see anonymised data. We use this data for maintaining the website, how users use the Site and ensuring it remains to the high standard that we would expect. This information does not contain any personal data and your behaviour on the site cannot be individually identified by us.

This tool uses “cookies,” which are text files entered into the memory of your browser by our web server, so that it can be retrieved at a later date, to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. Google Analytics does not collect IP addresses. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is transmitted to Google. This information is then used to evaluate visitors’ use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

We use the statistical analytics tool to track visitors to our Site in order to better your experience. Neither we, nor Google will link, or seek to link, an IP address with the identity of a computer user. General information that is collected by the web server (and stored for 38 months) which does not require any input on your part, apart from to visit the Site, is data such as (but not limited to):

Cookies and advertising on our site

We have external party adverts on our Site, run by the Council Advertising Network. If you choose to click on these adverts third party cookies will collect your IP address information for their own use. The Council does not have access to, use, or control the information generated by these cookies. You can reject new cookies or disable them altogether by using the appropriate menu on your browser.

Online forms

Any information that you provide in the brochure request and/or other forms  as well as the information you supply during the purchase of listing plans is captured into our database. The information provided is used solely to fulfil your queries and requests that have been sent to us. After a reasonable period of time (6 months for request forms and membership duration for listings ownership), in order to check fulfilment of the enquiry, the personal data is deleted. If you wish the data to be deleted straightaway, and we have not taken action we may not be able to fulfil your query/request.  Please email us business@tunbridgewells.gov.uk to have your data removed earlier than the usual deletion cycle.

This information is treated confidentially and is not passed on without your express consent.

Reviews, comments and content

Where you have uploaded reviews, comments or content to our websites or social media services (including in competitions) and made them publicly visible, we may link to, publish or publicise these materials elsewhere including in our own advertisements. If you do not wish us to share these materials please ask us by email (business@tunbridgewells.gov.uk) to remove them and we will do so if possible from our platforms.  This may mean they are still available elsewhere on the internet however.

Our Site contains links to other sites that are operated and/or owned by third parties. We do not have control over such third party sites and cannot accept responsibility should you decide to enter them.
