Tours & Sightseeing in Tunbridge Wells

There are many tales of intrigue, scandal and delight about Tunbridge Wells that have emerged over the years.

The most entertaining way to hear all about the historic spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is with a Tunbridge Wells Blue Badge Guide.

You can also take a drive round the borough on a self guided scenic tour or listen to the free audio app as you wander round the historic royal town.

Guided Group Tours in Tunbridge Wells

Our one-hour guided walking tours will take you through the Pantiles and the historic heart of the town.

You will discover its 400-year history and hear about the many famous visitors - from Queen Anne and Queen Victoria to Samuel Pepys - who made Tunbridge Wells the place in which to see and be seen!

The guides bring the stories and the history fully to life and are highly recommended.

Guided walks can be organised for groups through the Tunbridge Wells Tourist Information Centre. Tickets are only £5.00 per head (minimum of 15 people), tours last one hour.

All tours are conducted by a fully qualified Blue Badge Guide (Tourist Board accredited) and often start and finish at the Tourist Information Centre in the Pantiles. We would be happy to arrange a guided tour on a day, at a time and relevant start/finish locations to suit you.

For parties of 15 upwards, we can make the arrangements and suggest places to visit if you have a particular theme in mind.

Read a Guide’s blog ‘Tales from a Tunbridge Wells Blue Badge Guide’ to get an insider’s view!

Why not extend your day and combine a guided walking tour of Royal Tunbridge Wells with a visit to Penshurst Place and Gardens one of England's great houses.

Set within the High Weald this historic House and estate has been standing for more than six centuries. Penshurst Place which once belonged to Henry VIII has been the ancestral home of the Sidney family since 1552.

Today visitors can visit the House including the magnificent Baron’s Hall built in 1341, the historic walled gardens dating back to 1346, there are 11 acres of garden “rooms” to explore, the Toy Museum and the magnificent parkland.

The Garden Restaurant serves superb lunches and cream teas (pre booking recommended). The Gift shop and Porcupine Pantry café are both open daily.

To make the most of your visit to Penshurst Place & Gardens we suggest that you allow three hours to visit the House and Gardens.

Please note that the price does not include travel to Penshurst Place and refreshments /meals. There is ample free coach parking. The price is based on a minimum group size of 20 people. With groups of less than 20, the price per person will increase accordingly.
