This wonderful walking festival is absolutely FREE!

The High Weald Walking Festival is a great way for all the family to spend some time together out in the fresh open air whilst also experiencing the breath-taking scenery of High Weald.

There are graded walks so you will never be out of your depth and there are also guides (actual humans not leaflets!) who will lead you through the picturesque landscape if you so wish.

An example of one of the walks on offer is the Hadlow Down and Wealden Iron which will take place on the 20th of September with a guide. This walk will take you through serene woodland and sloping meadows of High Weald. In addition, you will discover some local history as you walk through the remains of the Wealden Iron Industry from eons past.

For enthusiastic ramblers, nature spotters, history buffs and photography fans, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The High Weald Walking Festival promotes responsible enjoyment of the countryside for all. Your four-legged friends will be most welcome on selected routes but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Some walks won't be suitable for dogs as they may pass through sites with ground nesting birds or livestock.

Please visit the Walking Programme page or download the Festival programme in advance to see which walks are suitable for dogs.

PLEASE NOTE: If you bring your dog to a walk which is not clearly marked as 'Dogs on leads welcome', you will not be able to participate. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience.

For more details about the vast range of walks on offer, the starting locations and routes, go to the High Weald Walking Festival Website.
